The Lunch-Bags like to get out of the kitchen from time to time. On the weekend we went for a hike at Short Hills Provincial Park located 4 km. southwest of St. Catharines. Short Hills is a 735-hectare day-use park with 7 trails, most are very hilly - as the park's name suggests - and 3 are deemed multi-use to accommodate horses, mountain bikers and hikers.  We discovered this Niagara gem last winter when were were looking for a snowshoeing location.
Arrive early because it can get busy.  Pack a lunch and enjoy a rest at one of the two scenic waterfalls.

Directions: From the QEW exit at Regional Road 24 (Victoria Ave.) and head south through Vineland, until you come to Regional Road 69. Head east long 69 until you come to the parking lot. Look for the park sign that is set back from the road, there is ample parking here.
